Murukku is a savoury, crunchy Indian snack. The snack originated in the TamilNadu state and we have found it particulary famous at the place Manavasi. Its name derives from the Tamil word for "twisted" , which refers to its shape. Murukku is popular all over India, and also in other countries where Tamil diaspora is present. Its ingredients are typically made from rice and urad dall flour. The flours are mixed with water, salt, asafoetida and either sesame seeds or cumin seeds. Murukku ,as it is made of all healthy ingredients ,it is very high in calcium and protein.
