Product Native: This grand curd rice accompaniment is from Periyakulam, Tamil Nadu (IN)

Specialty: Mango always finds a special place in Tamil Nadu fruits. It is part of “Mukkani” and available only during the summer season. This Vadu Mangai or Baby Mangoe are the mangoes that are dwarf and this will be available only during very short window of time in summer. Thus by tradition pickles were made out of this so that it can be tasted all through the years. The spice mix and the juice out of baby mangoe creates a unique flavor and taste.

The process of making this Pickle is complex as the skin need to be softened by keeping it in sun shade. There were shot cuts and usage of preservatives which would do the job in short span of time but this pickle is made in traditional way with ou any artificial additions. Feel the taste and flavor of traditional Maa Vadu pickle . Only sesame oil is used for the preparation and salt will act as a preservative.
