Specialty: Although Adhirasam is famous across Tamil Nadu, the Ellu Adhirasam from Karaikudi has its unique touch. This sweet has a special influence of a family from Karaikudi region, who are in it for almost three generations. The method of making this Adhirasam is retained in the same way giving the same traditional taste and flavor.
The crispy texture and pooranam inside the Adhirasam is the key highlight of this unique sweet. Addition of Sesame adds much delicious taste and flavor to the sweet it is added to make the digestion better. Because of the long natural fermentation process of the dough to get the traditional taste the preparation time takes around 5 days but it definitely worth the wait when you consume the adhirasam made in this way.
