Product Native: This product is from the pilgrim zone of TamilNadu (India), Tiruvarur. The Citron tree is the temple tree of the temple at Ogaiperiyur near Tiruvarur.

Specialty: This most famous Citron Ball Rolls are traditionally used as after food intake in order to avoid digestion issues. Citron (Narathai) has the unique astringent (Thuvarppu) taste. Traditionally the astringent taste aids digestion and cleans the stomach. Thus this was a custom in Tamil families to take this as after meal intake. This can also be used as a side dish for Curd rice to enhance the taste.

This is also famously called as “Veppilai Katti” in Tamil and there is a old saying which goes as “வேண்டாத சோத்துக்கு வேப்பிலைக்கட்டி”. This will enhance the taste of any food as a side dish.
