These three traditional rice varieties can be easily called as Crown of Tamil traditional rice varieties. This Annappaal Kanji mix is a traditional food for centuries among Tamil Community. The right combination of these rice, cardamom, pepper creates the magical Annappal Kanji.

Boil the Kanji mix in hot water for 5 – 10 minutes along with Salt or Cane Sugar (Nattu Sarkarai) as per your choice. This can be taken as Morning Tiffin or evening snack.

In tamil tradition Kanji is used to be called as “Paal” and Annampal refers to Kanji made with Rice. This has been referred in Tamil literature as “Punarbhanam”.
