Product Native: This traditional halwa is native to Madugula Village, Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh (India).

Specialty: Madugula Halwa is also called the First night special sweet Halwa. The Madugula halwa was first made by a sweet seller Dangeti Dharma Rao in 1890. Now the fourth generation of his family is continuing making the sweet which has a unique recipe consisting of wheat milk, forest honey, dry fruits, sugar, and loads of ghee. It takes five days to make this halwa and lasts for a month without becoming stale. Wheat is to be soaked for three days and then it is grounded to make it into wheat milk. The wheat milk is then boiled in sugar syrup and cashew, pistachio, almonds, forest Araku honey, and loads of ghee are added to it later. The preparation of this Madugula halwa is completely Homemade with skillful hands using firewood, which will take more time for preparation and gives the best flavor and taste.

This sweet is very famous for Marriage functions and especially during the First-night function must have sweet due to its healthy nature. This sweet is especially liked by children and adults.
